Midpoint Reach Analyzer
Every fade plan says "target the midpoint," and the range you're trading has already shown you whether that's a target or a wish. Paste the bars from inside the range with the high and low, and the analyzer finds every touch of the edge zone, then follows each one until it either crosses the midpoint or closes through the edge. You get the reach rate per side, the median bars a fill took, how far past the edge price poked before turning (the stop that would have survived), and how often the first target at a quarter of the range was hit. If the midpoint fills 2 times in 3, hold for it. If it fills 1 in 3, take the quarter and stop pretending.
Rows as open, high, low, close, with or without a timestamp in front. Any timeframe. 40 bars is a hint, 200 is a read.

Paste the bars, enter the range high and low, and hit Follow. Each touch of the edge zone gets tracked to the midpoint or to the break.
How it follows a touch. The edge zone is the top and bottom slice of the range, 15% of its height by default. A touch starts on the first bar whose high enters the top zone (or whose low enters the bottom zone) while that side is armed. From there the analyzer watches every later bar: a low at or below the midpoint (a high at or above it, for the bottom) is a fill; a close beyond the range high (below the range low) is a break. Whichever comes first ends the touch. A touch still running on the last bar is counted as open and left out of the rate. The side re-arms once a close is back out of the zone, so 4 bars sitting on the high count as 1 touch, not 4. Along the way it records the farthest the high went past the range high (the excursion, which is what your stop had to survive) and whether the low reached the quarter mark, a quarter of the range in from the edge, which is the usual first target. Reach rate is fills over fills plus breaks. Verdict: 65% or better with 6 or more resolved touches, hold for the midpoint; 45 to 64%, take the quarter and trail the rest; under 45%, the midpoint isn't a target in this range, scalp the quarter or stand aside. Keyboard: Enter runs it, 1 and 2 load the examples.
Educational tool only, not financial advice. The reach rate is a description of one range on one instrument, and the range that breaks is the range whose rate you'll never get to use.
