Partial Exit Plan Backtester

The Range Partials Planner sizes 3 exit plans, all out at the midpoint, half at the midpoint and half at the far edge, or all out at the far edge, from 2 numbers: how often a fade reaches the midpoint, and how often it goes on to the far edge from there. Guessing those numbers is a coin flip. Paste your closed range fades instead, mark whether each one reached the midpoint and the far edge, and this tool works out both rates from your own history, replays all 3 plans through every trade, and calls the winner in R per trade. It checks the plan you've actually been trading against that winner too, so a plan switch has a number attached.

One trade per line, comma separated. Side is L or S. A trade that reached the far edge counts as reaching the midpoint too, even if you typed N there. Leave the last column blank if you didn't log an exit for that trade. Paste at least 10 trades before P1 and P2 mean anything, 25 or more is a better read.

How each plan gets scored. For every trade, R to the midpoint = |midpoint − entry| / |entry − stop|, R to the far edge the same way, both off that trade's own levels. Plan A, all out at the midpoint: pays R_mid if the midpoint was reached, −1R if not. Plan B, half at the midpoint then stop moved to entry: pays 0.5×R_mid if the midpoint was reached, plus 0.5×R_far if the far edge was too, −1R if the midpoint was never reached. Plan C, all out at the far edge on the original stop: pays R_far if the far edge was reached, −1R if not. Each plan's E is the average of its per-trade payoff across every valid line. P1 is the share of trades that reached the midpoint, P2 is the share of those that went on to reach the far edge, the same 2 numbers the Range Partials Planner asks for. This uses that planner's exact Plan A/B/C framework, so a P1 and P2 read here plugs straight into it. Keyboard: Ctrl+Enter runs the backtest, 1 to 3 load the examples, C copies the read.

Educational tool only, not financial advice. This backtest only knows what you paste: mislabeled reach flags or a short trade history will still produce a confident-looking number. It assumes one stop and one initial size per trade, moved to breakeven after the first half is off in Plan B, the same convention as the Range Partials Planner.
