Pivot Method Bounce Rate Analyzer

Five pivot formulas all claim the same job: mark the level price turns at. Standard floor pivots, Camarilla (Nick Scott, the 1980s), Woodie's, Fibonacci, and DeMark (Tom DeMark) each compute that level a different way, and the half pivots between the Standard rungs add a sixth. Paste your daily bars and this analyzer builds every method from the prior day's data, checks every touch of each one's first and second level against the day's close, and tells you which formula has actually been bouncing on this instrument instead of just drawing lines on a chart.

One day per line, oldest first, daily bars only (this reads the close against each level, so it needs a full session, not an intraday bar). A leading date is fine and gets ignored, and so is a trailing volume column. Paste at least 16 days; 40 or more makes the bounce rates worth trusting.

How a level gets graded. For every day after the first, each method builds its levels from the prior day's open, high, low and close. A level is touched when that day's high reaches a resistance rung or its low reaches a support rung. A touch bounces when the day closes back on the side it came from, and breaks when the close goes through. The bounce rate is bounces divided by touches, and a method needs 3 or more touches on a rung before its rate counts for anything. The most recent day in your paste is graded the same way but kept separate, under Today's read, since a live session can still move before it closes. Formulas used: Standard: PP = (H+L+C)/3, R1 = 2PP−L, S1 = 2PP−H, R2 = PP+(H−L), S2 = PP−(H−L). Woodie's: PP = (H+L+2C)/4, then the same R1/S1/R2/S2 shape off that pivot. Fibonacci: PP = (H+L+C)/3, R1/S1 at 38.2% of the range from the pivot, R2/S2 at 61.8%. Camarilla: H3/L3 = C ± range×1.1/4, H4/L4 = C ± range×1.1/2, the reversal and breakout rungs traders actually watch, skipping the tighter H1/L1 and H2/L2. DeMark: X = H+2L+C when close is under open, 2H+L+C when close is over open, H+L+2C when they're equal, then PP = X/4, R1 = X/2−L, S1 = X/2−H, with no second level by convention. Half pivots sit at the midpoint between the Standard pivot and its R1/S1. Keyboard: Ctrl+Enter grades, 1 to 3 load the examples, C copies the read.
